It would be a good resource even without where the questionable characters are concerned. I agree we should include a list of renewed and non-renewed Fawcett and Quality titles both separate and included on the characters page.(This of course would also affect the later stories involving Ibis, Spy Smasher et al.) I also know that several of us who are attempting Golden Age-inspired projects are including Marvel Family elements, so I think we should seriously consider them, at least. I don't have the training to look through those copyright records, and trying to do it makes my head hurt. What would be really useful is an unambiguous list of which Fawcett comics were renewed and which were not. I'm cool with putting the Marvel Family, Plasticman, and Blackhawk to a vote. However, some of you have done a lot more research than I have, so I'll concede to a majority vote.- Madmikeyd 17:06, Ap(UTC) As for the other characters, I'd still rather err on the side of caution. That statement, and the fact that the website offering to license the characters is run by the family of the man who lost the lawsuit, seems like good enough proof to me. Cebr1979 ( talk) 23:18, Septem(UTC)īased on this statement from David Singer regarding the lawsuit, I believe the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. There is also this discussion and this discussion on this same topic. However, we need to agree on that and we don't so I'm just going to remove the Thunder Agents page and leave it be. We should just include a disclaimer explaining that the creator is using them at their own risk. Honestly, we really should add the other characters who we DO know were not renewed such as Plasticman, Captain Marvel, and Blackhawk. However this ambiguous copyright does no exist either it is or isn't copyrighted. Also, because the original lawsuit had declared they were public domain it also lead me to believe they were. However, the other 19 issues are public domain and all the characters who debuted in the later issues would be public domain while only what was introduced in the first issue would be protected. I'll remove the page since the first issue is under copyright. I missed the first issues renewal when I searched for it in the copyright office's records. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. In other words, this strikes me as the sort of thing we try to avoid in this wiki - characters with ambiguous copyrights that may get creators in trouble. An we do know that the first issue, at least. Agents' copyright status isn't quite as - as you make it out to be. Crimsoncrusader: I did some research on my own and it seems that T.H.U.N.D.E.R.
